Assessment

I established WellNestedOT service in 2023 and since then have continually reviewed my assessment process to best meet the needs of my clients. I currently offer assessment under two different strands.

Occupational Therapy Assessment and Full report (typically standardised)

I usually recommend this assessment process for older children 4.5 + and children attending school.

• Parent consultation

• One/Two clinic visits

• Preschool/school liaison (form filling, phone etc)

• Parent feedback Session

• Full report with personalised recommendations

  Occupational Therapy Screening assessment with verbal feedback

  I usually recommend this assessment for younger children under 4 years and for older child who benefit from a more informal play based assessment, sessions will usually be added to continue screening/intervention if warranted. This assessment is typically beneficial for children whose primary initial need is supporting regulation.

  (typically non standardised and with the intention child will attend for additional intervention/screening visits).

  (Liaison with preschool/school can be provided and report can be completed on request with additional fee)

  Additional Assessments

• Handwriting and Assistive Technology

• Developmental Coordination Disorder Standardised Assessment and Report with letter to GP/Paediatrician to review/confirm diagnoses if applicable.

• School or preschool visit with written recommendations.

• Initial Consultation/Review - Where child has received recent occupational therapy assessment/intervention elsewhere.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please try to give as much notice as possible so we can reschedule.

You can cancel your appointment  by phone call or text message.

Any appointments missed, late, cancelled or changed without the appropriate notice time will incur the following charges:

• There is no cancellation fee for sessions cancelled 36 hours prior to appointment.

• As a parent we understand children become sick at times and accept one cancellation at short notice without fees applying. In this instance, subsequent appointment with cancellation policy applies.

• A cancellation fee of 50% is applicable to cancellations made within less than 24 hours notice.

• Non attendance at an appointment without prior notice will incur the full rate of the appointment scheduled.

If cancellations and non attendance are a regular occurrence the therapist will discuss this with families, as many families are awaiting appointments.

Tax Relief and Health Insurance

WellNestedOT issue detailed receipts for you to use in the following ways

A MED1 form can be submitted to revenue to claim tax relief on 20% of your expenses.

Health Insurance policies - check your child’s current policy. Some policies offer up to 75% off fees and some providers offer options to avail of a children only policy.
